Regent Holidays sees Greenland bookings boom

-New, longer itineraries launched catering to demand-
Regent Holidays (www.regent-holidays.co.uk) has seen a marked increase in enquiries and bookings to Greenland in recent weeks, with interest fuelled by the media spotlight.
Greenland has been cited as a destination to watch by numerous media outlets thanks to the new airport that opened in the capital Nuuk late last year. Its unspoilt landscapes and epic scenery have also been showcased on TV screens and in news reports in recent weeks as a result of President Donald Trump’s strategic interest in the autonomous Danish territory.
In January 2025, Regent saw a 250% increase in bookings to Greenland over the month of January 2024, and a 70% increase in enquiries. In just the first month of this year, Regent has already achieved 26% of last year’s total bookings for Greenland.
Andrea Godfrey, Head of Regent, said:
“Perhaps it’s the buzz surrounding Nuuk’s new airport opening, Greenland appearing on multiple “must-see destinations for 2025” lists, or maybe the curiosity sparked by Trump’s much publicised designs on it. Whatever the reason, Greenland is very much on the radar as a travel destination for 2025, and year on year bookings have skyrocketed.
“We’re also seeing a trend toward travellers booking longer holidays, moving away from five-day short breaks in Ilulissat, which were hitherto most popular. This is fantastic news as extended stays allow visitors to truly experience the incredible nature and culture of this destination.”
Catering to increased demand, and complimenting its existing portfolio of short breaks, seasonal trips and island explorations, Regent has launched two new, longer itineraries in recent months:
The 15-day Great Greenland Adventure is a comprehensive summer exploration that combines adventure with culture. This small group tour takes in Greenland’s heritage, traditions, art and architecture alongside its great outdoors, with mountain hikes, whale-watching, cruising amongst icebergs in the fjords and relaxing in geothermal pools. It is priced from £8,185 per person sharing, including return flights, accommodation, all transportation including internal flights, most meals and a host of experiences as per the itinerary.
The 8-day Greenland Winter Wonders: Nuuk to Ilulissat individual trip is perfect for witnessing the northern lights, incredible icebergs, and local Inuit culture. Twinning capital Nuuk with Ilulissat (known as Town of the Icebergs), it celebrates Greenland’s winter in all its glory, with a northern lights cruise, a thrilling dog-sledding adventure and the opportunity to overnight in an igloo. It costs from £3,095 per person sharing including return flights, B&B accommodation, airport transfers, internal flights between Nuuk and Ilulissat and a host of experiences as per the itinerary.
