In Summer 2026, Celebrity Xcel will set sail on her inaugural European season where guests can immerse themselves in the Mediterranean like never before on seven-to 11-night journeys out of Barcelona and Athens, including all new overnight stays in Madeira, Portugal.

Celebrity Cruises is launching a new brand which will see it navigate the rivers of Europe. It announced Celebrity River Cruises, which will offer premium river cruise itineraries ‘to historic cities on the world’s most iconic rivers.’ It will initially launch in Europe. The brand has signed an order for 10 river ships to launch from 2027. Reservations will open later this year. Ships will bring the elevated design of the Edge Series Ocean ships to the river, it says. “We’re thrilled to announce our entry into the river cruise market,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. “With about half of our guests having experienced or intending to vacation on a river cruise, we know they will enjoy Celebrity’s elevated offering on the river.” Laura Hodges Bethge, president, Celebrity Cruises, added: “We’ve redefined travel on the ocean with our best-in-class hospitality, food and beverage experiences, and will combine them with authentic, destination-rich itineraries.” More details about Celebrity River Cruises, including destinations and ship details will be announced in the coming months.

Celebrity Cruises is adding to its fleet. Parent Royal Caribbean Group just signed an agreement with Chantiers de l'Atlantique for a sixth Edge Series ship for delivery in 2028. Edge 6 or the ‘Xcel 2’ will become the sister-ship to Celebrity Xcel, which launches in November this year. The other Edge Series ships include Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Apex, and Celebrity Edge. “Celebrity's Edge Series has redefined premium travel at sea, blending groundbreaking design and guest experiences. Each ship in this award-winning series has set a new standard for the industry,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. The Edge Series ships have unique guest features like the iconic Magic Carpet – the first cantilevered, floating platform at sea. Other firsts introduced by Celebrity’s Edge Series ships include Infinite Veranda staterooms. Royal Caribbean Group’s newbuild pipeline currently includes a total of eight ships on order. This year, the company will welcome two new ships including Royal Caribbean International’s Star of the Seas and Celebrity Xcel.  

Celebrity Equinox has arrived at Port Canaveral, making history as the first Celebrity Cruises ship to homeport there. The 2,850-passenger Celebrity Equinox becomes Port Canaveral’s 15^th vessel to call the world’s second busiest cruise port home. “We’re thrilled to welcome Celebrity Cruises as our newest cruise partner,” said Port Canaveral CEO Captain John Murray. “The addition of this ship continues to expand the number of options to sail from our Port. We are proud of our growth and the collective success.” Celebrity Equinox will sail from Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 1, offering week-long Caribbean cruises. The ship will sail to destinations including The Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Mexico, San Juan and St. Maarten. Celebrity Equinox is the second in the line’s Solstice Series ships. It houses 20 food and beverage options, panoramic views at the Sky Observation Lounge and half an acre of real grass at The Lawn Club.

Celebrity Cruises has set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida for the first time. Celebrity Equinox has started a season of seven-night Caribbean cruises from the port to The Bahamas, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Belize, and more. With the addition of Port Canaveral, Celebrity Cruises now offers sailings from coast to coast in Florida, providing guests the choice of four ports in the state. “The addition of Port Canaveral offers guests the ultimate flexibility for their perfect Caribbean getaway,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. Celebrity Equinox’s seven-night itineraries from Port Canaveral will visit more than 15 Caribbean destinations. They include Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Mexico, and visit Perfect Day at CocoCay. Celebrity Equinox guests can a choice of more than 20 food and beverage options, varied entertainment and more than 120 treatments at The Spa. Starting in winter 2025, the cruise line will bring Celebrity Apex to the region for seven-night Caribbean cruises.

Celebrity Cruises will not be sanctioned by Hawaii authorities after being accused of breaking state regulations. Video footage showed the Celebrity Edge sailing and anchoring close to the Na Pali coast on Kauai. State regulations ban ships with 50 or more passengers from coming within 3,000 feet of the shore. After local residents filed a complaint last month, state officials opened an investigation. When the 2,908-guest ship docked in Honolulu officers boarded the ship and interviewed the captain. The captain stated the ship remained in deep waters but he was unsure of the exact distance from the shore. Local witnesses were also interviewed but none could say with certainty that the ship had broken the 3,000 feet distance rule. “We determined there is insufficient evidence that supports probable cause or that there is clear and convincing evidence to pursue any criminal or civil action,” a statement said. Hawaii Tourism Authority also assisted in the investigation.

Celebrity Apex has officially marked its debut homeporting in the UK and is the first of Celebrity’s Edge Series ships to call Southampton home. The debut Southampton cruise season is underway with Apex departing on the first eight-night Norwegian Fjords cruise. "We're bringing one of our most innovative ships for Southampton cruises, providing guests the opportunity to sail in style directly from the UK," said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises. "It's an exciting time as we elevate cruising from the region." The season will see a range of Southampton cruises head for Northern Europe and the Canary Islands until October 2024. Apex sails four-to-13-night sailings including the 12-night Norwegian Fjords and Arctic Circle cruise. In addition to Northern Europe, sailings take in Ibiza. The ship offers guests 29 restaurants, bars, and lounges, the cantilevered venue 'The Magic Carpet and a variety of entertainment offerings.

Celebrity Cruises has made its first calls at Perfect Day at CocoCay private island this week. For the first time, guests aboard Celebrity Reflection visited Royal Caribbean Group earlier this week followed by Celebrity Beyond the next day. Perfect Day at CocoCay is now part of Celebrity Cruises’ new short Caribbean cruise program. “Guest feedback inspired the new shorter Caribbean itineraries, designed to offer year-round opportunities,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises. “Introducing Perfect Day at CocoCay presents new experiences for Celebrity guests seeking quick beach getaway escapes.” Perfect Day at CocoCay offers Caribbean cruise guests an adults-only beachfront experience at Hideaway Beach, with a DJ, four bars and island-inspired dining. Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Beyond will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay on five-night Western Caribbean cruises, departing from Fort Lauderdale. Western Caribbean cruise itineraries also include calls to Bimini, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Key West. Celebrity Cruises also announced its 2025-2026 Caribbean cruise season, offering premium escapes with new three-, four-, and five-night breaks.

Celebrity Cruises has reveled the name of its upcoming fifth Edge-series ship. It will be named Celebrity Xcel. The new cruise ship is under construction and dur to launch in 2025. "The Edge Series has shattered preconceived notions of cruising. I am thrilled to announce our next bold step as a brand with Celebrity Xcel,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity. The ship will offer upgraded services and amenities compared to other Edge ships, but the line is yet to share details. Accommodations will include two-story villas with private plunge pools, a larger Rooftop Garden and the Retreat exclusive resort area. Celebrity Xcel will debut in late 2025 on Caribbean cruises with a winter season out of Fort Lauderdale. It will sail seven-night alternating Caribbean cruises to the Bahamas, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands, and Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.

Port Canaveral will become home for Celebrity Equinox in late 2024. Celebrity expands sailings to the Caribbean starting December 3, 2024, through April 19, 2025 with Port Canaveral homeporting. The Port has now gained the status as the world's busiest cruise hub. "We are thrilled to welcome Celebrity Cruises as our new partner to be part of their Caribbean cruise expansion plans," said Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO. "The demand for Celebrity Cruise sailings from our Port has been growing." Celebrity Equinox will offer 20 new itineraries spanning seven-nights to The Bahamas, Belize, Grand Cayman, Mexico, San Juan, and St. Maarten. Two sailings on March 1 and March 15, 2025, will include stops at private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.  Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises said: "We are thrilled to add Port Canaveral to our list of home ports.” “It is a perfect market to reach a wide mix of both in- and out-of-state travelers." Celebrity Equinox features 13 decks, with a capacity for 2,850 passengers. The Solstice class ship underwent a multi-million-dollar refresh in 2019, introducing an all-new The Retreat experience.
