Vietnam Airlines launches nonstop Munich flights

Vietnam Airlines has become the first Vietnam airline to fly non-stop between Vietnam and Munich.

Vietnam Airlines inaugural flight VN35 touched down in Bavaria with the return flight back to Asia celebrated with an event at the airport attended by the airline’s partners and dignitaries.

The introduction of direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Munich is an important milestone, says Le Duc Canh, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines.

The airline started flying to Germany 20 years ago and has carried about 3.1 million passengers between the two countries.

The scheduled service between Hanoi and Munich operates twice a week.

Vietnam Airlines also serves direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Munich once a week on Mondays, with the return flight on Tuesdays.

Starting in December 2024, additional frequencies will depart from Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesdays and from Munich on Thursdays.

The introduction of new flights to Munich brings the number of weekly services from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Frankfurt and Munich to 14.
