Luxury line Seabourn is selling cruise ship Seabourn Sojourn to Japan based Mitsui Ocean Cruises.

Following the sale, Seabourn will then charter the ship back from Mitsui Ocean Cruises to continue all scheduled voyages including the completion of its world cruise ending May 15, 2026.

Seabourn Sojourn will then be delivered to Mitsui Ocean Cruises.

“With this transition, Seabourn will have one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the business,”, said Mark Tamis, president, Seabourn.

“Our ocean ships combined with our two recently launched expedition ships give us the right mix to serve the ultra-luxury travel market.”

Seabourn will contact guests with bookings impacted after May 15, 2026, to share details on changes or rebooking options.

“We are proud that after 16 years in the fleet, Seabourn Sojourn will continue her journeys with Mitsui Ocean Cruises.”

“In the coming year, we will find special ways to celebrate Sojourn’s legacy with guests and crew,” Tamis added.

It is the second purchase of a former Seabourn vessel by Mitsui.

It currently operates the 458-guest all-suite ship Mitsui Ocean Fuji, which was previously the Seabourn Odyssey.

The Japan cruise line just recently inked a deal to market its voyages to the North America market.
