There has been a second norovirus outbreak of the year aboard Princess ship, Coral Princess.

During the last cruise which returned to Fort Lauderdale on March 9, more than 80 cases were reported.

It comprised 69 guests and 13 crew members, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The ship was carrying over 1900 guests during the Panama transit cruise which departed Los Angeles in late February.

Vomiting and diarrhea were the main symptoms, the federal health agency said.

Princess Cruises initiated its outbreak response measures which included enhanced cleaning and disinfection and isolating all ill guests and crew.

The CDC monitored the outbreak remotely until it returned to Florida.

It is the second confirmed norovirus outbreak on Coral Princess this year.

A cruise which ended in early February sickened 128 guests and 20 crew members.

So far in 2025, there have been nine confirmed cruise ship outbreaks, with six of these confirmed as norovirus as the causative agent.
