Over 50 survive Air China plane crash
At least 54 people on board an Air China Boeing 767 are believed to have survived a plane crash in South Korea.
The remainder of people on board the plane, which was carrying 155 passengers and 11 crew, are feared dead. The flight crashed in fog and rain near the city of Pusan, South Korea’s second largest city and bad weather is hampering rescue attempts.
Flight CA129 was travelling from Beijing and approaching Kimhae airport when it crashed. It is the first crash for Air China, Beijing’s state-owned flag carrier which had previously prided itself on its “impeccable safety record.”
Most of the passengers on board were South Korean nationals with 19 people of other nationalities, mostly Chinese. Survivors are being treated at a number of hospitals in the area.
