Fort Myers post-hurricane recovery continues

Several weeks after Hurricane Ian, Florida’s Lee County has made huge progress in its recovery.
Over 56.4% of the county’s guestrooms are now open.
Westin Cape Coral, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, Marriott Sanibel Harbour, and Crowne Plaza Fort Myers are some of the major hotels that recently reopened.
“We’re going to see strong demand for the rooms that are now open,” said Cecil Pendergrass, chair of Lee County Tourist Development Council.
“We know the passion for Southwest Florida hasn’t changed.”
The early reopening of Sanibel Causeway & Bridge in October was a huge advancement.
Brian Kramer, general manager, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa, said: “The amount of work that has been accomplished over the last month is nothing short of extraordinary.”
Tom Custo, general manager, Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, said: “Achieving this milestone is a commitment to the hardworking individuals who make this a special place for so many.”
