Florida summer tourist arrivals hit new record high

Even two major hurricanes couldn’t keep Florida tourism down.

The Sunshine State just posted record visitation numbers for the third quarter with an estimated 34.61 million tourist visits.

The state has overcome a number of obstacles – there was some backlash after the state removed LGBTQ+ travel content from the Visit Florida website in a politically motivated move.

However, it hasn’t affected the state’s popularity as a top vacation destination.

“The hard work and resilience of Floridians have been instrumental in keeping our tourism industry strong, showcasing the best of what our state has to offer,” Visit Florida President and CEO Dana Young said.

The vast majority are out of state visitors with 31.75 million domestic visits and 2.27 million overseas travelers.

Of these, nearly 600,000 were from Canada.
