Flight attendant killed during layover in ‘senseless crime’

A homicide investigation is underway over the ‘senseless’ killing of a flight attendant during a layover.

Celinda Levno, 71, died in hospital after being stabbed near a mall in Denver.

The American Airlines employee, who has been a flight attendant since the late-1980s, was based in Phoenix, AZ.

It seems to be part of a series of random attacks over the weekend.

Denver police say a suspect in custody over four stabbings which included the death of another person.

The airline issued a statement: “We are heartbroken and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague who was the victim of a senseless crime. Our thoughts and support are with her family, loved ones and colleagues.”

Police said the suspect and Levno and the other victims had no connection to each other.

She was rushed to hospital on Saturday and died the following day after surgery.
