ANA Holdings is launching a new low-cost airline brand.
It unveiled AirJapan which will offer medium-haul international flights starting in late 2023.
It touts an ‘affordable price range similar to low cost carriers’ on a fleet of Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
It plans to serve Asian and Pacific destinations from Tokyo Narita Airport, although it is still finalising initial routes.
“We can operate routes that may not be profitable in All Nippon Airways’ cost structure,” Hideki Mineguchi, President of Air Japan Co. said.
The new brand will combine full-service and low-cost service, it said.
It will be positioned between full-service All Nippon Airways and ANA’s existing LCC Peach Aviation.
